Our Silent Auction is our largest fundraising event. It is held at the Annual Meeting of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA) Conference held in the Fall.
Anyone may participate in the Auction. The normal procedure is for bidders to be present to bid on their desired item.
At the various items, there is a sign up sheet where you place your name and max bid amount in the hopes of winning the item. You can increase your bid at any time before the end of the auction. The item is announced or set aside upon winning the item. At the end of the dinner you may return to the silent auction hall to claim you item.
Generally, cocktail attire such as dresses at or below the knees, suits with a tie/bow tie. On occasion, people have worn casual evening wear such as slacks and dress shirts and dresses. There is a MAPA banquet dinner immediately following the auction.
